Just another mom with a blog...

I'm a 30 year old, first time mom, from Cape Town, South Africa. 

My hobbies currently include anything baby related (ie. non existent, but here's to hoping that changes as my son grows up...)

The inspiration behind this was a friend who messaged me saying "you should start a blog - furreal!!... you're honest about your parenting. All the other people talk about how wonderful it is and what a blessing and there's nothing better..."

​

At first my reaction was "who on earth would want to read about my experience?". But while lying awake at 3.30am (after putting my son back to sleep for the 3rd time that night) I suddenly had all these ideas of things I could write about. Opinions, experiences, advice. Just so that there is no misunderstanding, I don't just broadcast how terrible, tiring and trying motherhood is. But I do think that it's a side to parenting that not many people speak very openly about. More often than not mothers are gifted with this tiny human and all anyone has told them about are that it's such a blessing and you'll never experience a greater love. And while all that is ABSOLUTELY TRUE, we should be talking about the highs and the lows of becoming a parent.

The truth is, none of us really knows what we are doing. So even those moms that seem to have it all figured out, have meltdown moments of cluelessness. They just don't always show that on the socials.

Whether this ends up being just a creative outlet for me or if it genuinely helps someone out there,

fan-freakkin-tastic!

So to all the new moms, seasoned moms, soon-to-be moms or those reading this to decide whether or not to procreate - welcome!
